"Mom, Dad, go to bed. It's late." I called to my workaholic parents. They glanced over and gave me a glare.
"Oh come now, boy," my demon possessed father retorted, "it's not that late, is it?" He glanced at the clock on his computer to see the time. When he realized how late it really was, he cursed himself.
Mom glanced at the time too on her computer, and when she realized the time, she turned back to face me, smiling. "Thank you, Barrett."
"You're welcome, Mom." Just don't call me by my full name. I'd perfer to be called Barry. Gosh, I have to remind her that from now on. Might as well remind her to get off her lazy butt once in a while while I'm at it.
Mom turned off her computer, kissed my forehead and went off to bed. Dad was still working on something, and refused to go to bed... great. Now I have to drag him into the room or hound him about the time until he yells at me again. Which is less violent?
"Hey Dad, it's 1:30 AM!" I said, leaning over his shoulder, just to see what was so important. ...Okay, just a bunch of non-sense to me, but at least he understands what all the pages mean. "You should go to bed now."
"In a minute, I'm almost done." He grunted.
"One minute was three hours ago."
"Oh, hush you." He said while finishing up his work, then turning off the computer. "You happy now, Boy?"
"Yes, now go to bed." I have a name, ya know, Dad.
"Fine." He got up and went to bed, rather furious. Of course he would be though, because I interrupted his work. Such is life though.
I yawned and stretched before my tired orange eyes shifted towards my bedroom door... I need sleep. Taking care of my lazy parents with my messed up Cinderella story isn't easy. I feel like a parent to my parents. I headed into my room and got into my orange pajama pants and shirt, and climbed into bed. I turned off the light on the end table before comfortably falling into slumber. In about four hours, I'd have to get up to wake up my parents so they could go to work. Joy. Only four hours of sleep...

"OH CRAP! LATE! I'M LATE! HEATHER! WAKE UP! WE'RE LATE!"
"OH SHOOT! ALBERT, WHY DIDN'T BARRY WAKE US!?"
"I DUNNO!"
...ow, what was all the yelling about? Yeah, my wonderful beauty sleep was rudely interrupted by some yelling. I sat up in the bed and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, then yawning. Man, what time was it? I glanced over at the alarm clock, and my eyes widdened. 10:00 AM. I'd over slept! Shoot! Mom and Dad are gonna KILL me. No, Mom's gonna kill me, and Dad is gonna rip my body to peices and burn them in a huge bonfire. Today I was gonna die a miserable and horrible death, all because I'd over slept (not hearing the alarm, that apparently shut itself off) and forgot to wake up my parents. Ugh. Just kill me now. This has never happend before. How'd this happen? How could I allow myself to be put into this terrible situation!? I swear to Arceus I hear that alarm clock every morning and put the alarm on. I checked just to see if the alarm was set on. Yup, it was. So how come I didn't hear it?
I hopped out of bed and quickly got dressed into my usual outfit: orange and white stripped T-Shirt, green scarf wrapped around my neck, and tight grey pants. Then I left my room to find my parents racing out the door, dressed in their usual business wear, coffee in their left hand, and breif case in the right. Wow, they actually took care of themselves for once in their life... JUST TO GET TO WORK! Do all they care about is work? Well, at least I didn't get yelled at. I sighed in relief. What a wonderful way to start a morning....
I took a shower and brushed my teeth (I ain't a breakfast person. No. I settle for just a cup of coffee to last till lunch.), then made myself a cup of coffee and sat back on the couch. Thank Arceus I didn't have work today. I needed a day off. At lest I'm alone. ALONE AT LAST! No parents to parent, no responsibilities.... just enough time to kick back and relax for once-
Knock knock! Crap. Someone at the door to ruin my relaxation. I put my coffee down on the end tabled and got up, then answering the door. When I opened the door, it was to my surprize that I found Paul, the idol of my life, at the door. ...Seriously, I thought he didn't like being up this early. Since when did he get up before noon time?
"Hello, Barry." He greeted me.
"Oh, hi Paul," I greeted him back. "What're you doing up this early?"
"Your parents' screaming... I could hear them from all the way across the street." Yes, he lives right across the street from me. But that's only because I moved across the street from him... well, I hounded my parents to move there until they finally snapped and said, "FINE GOD DANGIT! JUST SHUT UP ABOUT PAUL!" ...I love it when I get my way.
